How are you guys? Philcaela is here 🙂 We are in Napa! Napa is about an hours drive from San Francisco, you have a lot of things Can be here, a lot of food, a lot of wineries. We will take you to show you what you can do during your day in Napa. Let’s go! ! ! Therefore, reservations are not required for most trips. We start the day at 10 am, basically we are at Boon Fly Cafe On the way from San Francisco to Napa so this is a good first stop. Just had our food at Boon Fly Cafe and we got a spread with Boon Fly donuts. We have green eggs and ham here. We also watched a Corning beef hash online which was really good, so we had to try it. Oh, so fresh! Potatoes at the bottom, some spinach, poached eggs, also jalapeno Holland, which is It’s really different, it’s really great.
The green sauce is actually lemon leek cream, which is definitely different. My favorite thing is definitely the marinated beef hash and donuts, they are all spectacular! This is definitely the perfect pit stop to Napa. And for true Philcaela fashion, we must get our coffee. I know we are in Napa, I know we are in wine country, but we want coffee the first. Thank you! So, if you are a DD, you are a little tired, this is definitely a good place Drink coffee My favorite drink is Annihilator, they don’t actually specify it on the menu No longer, but you just need it.
So if you don’t need coffee, feel free to skip it, but if you do, just like us, come here! So we are at Del Dotto Estate and Winery, which is one of my favorite wineries in Napa. The inside is really great, really cool inside. Its beautiful here, you can become great pictures of inside and outside and pictures of wine well. The tasting here is actually 45 dollars, you can do it yourself or you can actually share it. It just costs you more cheese, bread and olive oil because they serve.
I am not a great wine connoisseur, but I really enjoy my tasting, wine Great here My favorite is Pinot. I was like “Wow, this is a great aftertaste!” Then they were like, “You mean done?” so awkward. The experience is really great, the workers are really great and knowledgeable, they also have other experience Here we did not go, but they are if you want to visit, just one A bit expensive. This shouldn’t be a surprise, but things are very expensive in Napa, so wine Tasting here is $45 and you can expect to pay up to $100 or $120, depending on the location You are going, so please keep this in mind. Anyway, now we have to go this way to Domaine Chandon, where we can get Some sparkling wine.
So our next stop is Domaine Chandon, they have great sparkling wine here and we got Tasting 2 times. Here, we got the classic shiny and still and sparkling roses. So I love Rose, the first one is super good. It’s so cool, my God. We also have truffle popcorn, it just smells like truffle, it tastes great, it tastes great It smells great! An important tip about Napa is that it can get super hot! We are outside now because there are not really many tables indoors, it is still good In the shade, but Napa can get, very hot, so please be aware of this. Especially if you visit for a few months in the summer, it can become very stuffy here. The experience you will get at Domaine Chandon is interesting, but its a bit Unlike Del Dotto, this is a bigger place and one thing Its a bit cheap here, but it seems like, you know, there are a lot of tours here The bus that stops here. So it’s basically just a very different vibe. My atmosphere will definitely be more optimistic, saying that there are more people here. It’s still really interesting and very good.
We like the sparkling wine we are tasting here, but all wineries are different! You come to Napa, you are really excited, you want as many wineries as possible, But it is wine! It will make you tired after a while, even drinking it is fun! So since we are in Yountville, we are going to a great bakery We have been to Bouchon many times.
They have very very good puffs and macaroons, we basically have to show it What you can do in Napa is not a winery. Yountville is a great place to enter Napa Valley if you are tired of driving From point A to point B. If you are looking for an area a little more walking, where can you Walk around, wander, don’t keep in the car, Yountville is great. Its a bit warm today, so we just came here to visit Bouchon Bakery, but This area is very, very interesting! Of course we want to order more pastries and baked goods, but many are perishable, So we don’t want to order too much, so we have an eclair to share.
Look at that! very beautiful! We have a bread, because we also have olive oil from the winery, so we eat together. Finally, we got an almond croissant. There are not many authentic French places in Napa, so that’s why this place is huge hit. We have brought it to some snacks in downtown Napa. This is actually my favorite restaurant in Napa, I love this place, I have been here So many times, it’s always so good.
So please remember that many wineries in Napa closed early, so where are you going after that? Let’s go eat! This is why we arrived earlier. Tapas, but with a little influence from Portugal. Most places will have shrimp fried with garlic and butter and a little Tomato sauce, but here you really get a broth. So when we got the baguette, we actually like to put it in the soup to let it absorb and Then eat it. It’s amazing! Paella is here and the menu is really great. It says 15 USD/person, but actually you can Order one, so you can serve one side dish for more than one person. Then we also got bacalao, which is one of my favorite dishes.
It’s like a salted cod, like whipped, like your mashed potatoes, you You can’t find salted cod snack restaurants in Spanish, but they are here. So, the bread is super crispy and the cod is just perfect. We also have Spanish Omelette. Flat iron steak, its good, it has a jalapeokimimichurri, its taste popular. They don’t make reservations, so that’s why we came early. Otherwise you may find yourself having to wait an hour or thirty minutes or so. Overall, Zuzu is our favorite restaurant in Napa Valley.
